<title tag> Used Tractors: Tractor buying checklist
<title> Tractor buying checklist
<subhead> It is always advisable to check anything you want to buy before you part with your money and buying a new or used tractor is no exception. For the buyers with lots of experience of tractors it is far easier than for those who are new to the world of tractors. So, if you are wondering what things you need to check before buying a new tractor then why not have a look over some of our buying guidelines below?
A Comprehensive guide of what to check when buying a tractor
1) Always make sure that you drive the tractor before you buy it and check it is generally working well. Things to look out for are that it starts easily, there are no problems with the gears etc
2) Check the brakes, are they working well?
3) Make sure that you drive the tractor for a long enough time to check that it will still work as well when the engine has been running a while. Check that it isn’t getting too hot
4) Use your common sense and gut feeling when trying to spot any problem areas the tractor might have. Does it smoke? Are there any oil leaks? Does it make a strange noise?
5) Check to see that the charging system is working correctly
6) Cast your eye over the engine compartment and see whether it has had any major repairs.
7) Be sure to look for any structural cracks the tractor might have
8) Does the tractor have the weight to do the job that you need it to do
9) If the tractor is old how much restoration work does it require and how much will it cost to get the tractor running to do the work needed?
10) What type of tractor is it? How much will the parts cost should you need to repair it in the future? How easily available are these parts?
